Do to recent events and this time of year I thought this is a good title. To all the gift givers and gift receivers ; here is a quick read. I recently learned that I actually am a good gift receiver; if it fits my values, I know that’s a little shallow and short sided, but truth be told we usually give gifts based on our values and not the gift receivers values. Sometimes that can be hard if you don’t really know the person, but I’m not talking about that person, your values is all you have to use. I’m talking about that person you know, the sports fan, or the shoe head, or the golfer, the lover of fine jewelry, or that person that just wants a fancy expensive meal.
I personally like gifts that keep on giving , what I mean by that is shoes, fancy socks skinny jeans, diamonds, watches, colognes, hats, love making, season tickets to favorite sport teams, a work out partner, a good book or audio, tickets to a seminar that has my favorite speakers, the gift of a good sermon. Those gifts continue to give long after the moment in which they were given has passed. I sure I’m missing some, those are the ones that popped into my head, not in that order. I like to call those value gifts, reason being, in my head you can go per use amount, say a pair of 300 shoes, you can say I wore those shoe 50 times, so that shoe cost $6 per time I wore them, but the kicker is they looked good every time you wore them, and it can travel over the style trends.
Let’s take a look at the one time gift, as great as it may be, only in its original moment is it celebrated and is a memory from that point forward, until you go poop it out or see it on your credit card bill! versus every time I smell that amazing perfume it blows my mind, and it didn’t matter who introduced it to the environment.
That gift that keeps on giving…
